1. iRobot Roomba j7+
The Roomba J7+, IRobot's smartest robot to date, is the Roomba j7+. Its most significant breakthrough is its camera-based obstacle detection system that utilizes built-in AI to detect objects such as charging cords, shoes, and the dreaded pet waste many other robots are unable to avoid (and often go through). It's the first robot to provide you with a picture of an object that it encounters, meaning you can tell the robot to avoid it.
The Combo J7+ is the best robot mop we've ever tested. It cleans up dirt and spills quickly and leaves no trace of it was there. The iRobot application makes it simple to control. It can schedule cleanings and create Keep Out Zones to ensure it doesn't vacuum in areas that you don't would like. It's compatible with Alexa or Google Assistant so you can start and stop it using voice.

In our tests the j7+ was quick to pick up and remove dust dirt, pet hair and even pet hair. The counter-rotating rubber brushes held the debris in its place instead of scattering it across the floor. It was able capture sand, small gravel and even a tiny bit of grit. Most robots could not accomplish this feat. And all this without getting tangled up in our pet's hair shed.
The j7+, although not as smart as the Roomba S9 for $1,217and Self-Emptying Vacuum Robot from iRobot, and cannot clean the stairs, is still a good option for those who require both a vacuum and a mop. It's not too expensive, and the iRobot app makes it very user-friendly to use.
The iRobot Home App is easy to use, but we found it less reliable than other robotic cleaner applications. It can take a while to download updates and it's sometimes difficult to tell if they are working until you actually see them in action.
2. Roborock Q5+
If you're looking for a vacuum that does more than just clean floors, the most effective option is likely to be hybrid. This type of robot typically includes a built-in water tank which means they can vacuum and mop your home simultaneously. They also come with many additional features such as smart mapping and small object avoidance and the capability to wash and dry mopping pads. The downside is that they tend to be expensive when purchased at full retail, but on Black Friday and Cyber Monday they often drop in price.
Roborock is one of our favorite robot vacuums and the Q5+ isn't an exception. It's the cheapest model in their auto-empty line. While it may not include some of the expensive features (like no-go zones or multi-story memories), it's still a great choice if you are willing to make some compromises to save a few bucks.
The Q5+ is noticeably gentle around obstacles such as tables and walls, which makes it a good choice for homes with lots of furniture. It's also extremely thorough in removing dust bunnies. This is an area that many cheaper robot vacuums fall short. The Q5+'s navigation is top-quality, with a few misses along walls and in corners.
Like other Roborock devices, the Q5+ can be controlled by a handful of buttons on the device or via the Roborock app. The app lets you start and stop cleanings and schedules, as well as create virtual barriers and no-go zones and adjust your home map or change the labeling of rooms.
If you select the Q5+ model, it includes a new auto-emptying dock, designed to make the robot easier to maintain. The Freo X Ultra is not without faults, particularly when it comes to navigation. Its LiDAR sensors and laser sensors aren't as reliable and reliable as other robovacs. This means it is prone to getting stuck or get confused in certain corners or rooms of the house. It's not able navigate stairs as well as competitors, for instance and it doesn't have an dock that allows you to create an area for cleaning that is specifically designed for carpets that are soft.
Although it doesn't have as much in the way of cleaning configuration options in its app or as many shortcuts in the app as other robovacs, the Freo X Ultra is still an excellent choice for those looking for a comprehensive mop and robot vacuum that's worth the premium price cost.

It can remember what it has already cleaned and the areas it was unable to access. It will return to the base to recharge and continues cleaning where it left off.
The elegant G30 has its flaws however. The iRobot Roomba is more durable and has lower cost of operation. It is faster to charge, has the same battery life and performs better on unfinished floors or low-pile carpet. It comes with a larger dust bin, which does not require the same amount of emptying. It also has boundary strips that keep it from certain areas. The G30 is more affordable and simpler to maintain. Its smaller canister means it doesn't need to be emptied as often and has less trouble with bulky materials such as cereal.
